Pub Restaurant:
These two areas are separated for either cosy chats at the bar, or intimate meals for two.
Bar
Many of our regulars love nothing better than to stand or sit in our cosy bar and chat amongst themselves or to our friendly and engaging staff, over their favourite tipple from our well kept ales or our intriguing wine or gin list. Our recently installed Verre de Vin means we can now offer our customers a much more extensive range of top wines by the glass. Others prefer to huddle in front of a roaring log fire with a bowl of chips, following a brisk walk in the woods. Don’t forget to look out for our unique wood carvings (beneath the bar) documenting the history of the pub. Or partake in a friendly game of toad in the hole – a local pastime dating back to the Elizabethan era. Dogs are very welcome in the bar and are given as warm a welcome as their owners, with dog snacks on the bar.
Restaurant
Our separate restaurant can seat up to 40 people. Groups of diners may like to be served in our cosy snug and tug areas. We can host larger party bookings including our popular Christmas party evenings. The restaurant is often the venue for our ticket only special dining and wine tasting evenings – Burns Night is a particular favourite. It can also be booked for private celebrations and other events. You can choose from our menu of lovingly prepared dishes comprising fresh, seasonal and predominantly local ingredients or from our chef’s daily specials board. On colder days we will have our log burner blazing and our friendly staff will always be on hand to talk you through our exciting wine list.
Our pub restaurant may get busy on special days and events, so please make sure you reserve a table.
